Scott Kriner, President and founder of Green Metal Consulting, started his career in 1981 in the metal construction industry, with emphasis on domestic and international coated steel technology.  He is an Accredited LEED Professional and is technical editor for EcoStructure magazine.  He is also a judge in metalmag magazine's Architectural Awards program.

He is the founding chairman of the Cool Metal Roofing Coalition formed in 2002.  He has held numerous positions of responsibility on the board of directors of the National Coil Coating Association and Metal Construction Association, served as chairman of Cool Roof Rating Council's Weathering Farm Task Group, and chairman of the Zinc and Aluminum Coaters Association.. Scott is a member of the ASTM E60 Committee on Sustainability.

His previous work assignments include research, product development, and account management at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, technical marketing at Akzo Nobel Coatings, senior account management at Betz Dearborn, and technical management for BIEC International.

Kriner has a B.S. and Master of Engineering degrees in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.  He also  holds a patent of improvement on 55% Al-Zn Alloy Coated Steel.
